Meghann + Jake…Smore Love Please

When I got a call last year, from couple, Meghann and Jake, requesting a “SMORES BAR”, I could not have been more excited! The bar included scratch made marshmallows (vanilla bean, almond, and orange blossom), scratch made cinnamon graham crackers, and tons of assorted chocolate…yum! It made for a delicious, unique, and super fun experience for them and their guests.

The reception was held at the Coronado Cays Yacht Club, so there was a bit of a nautical theme with coral and navy as their colors. Check out the amazing photos by Brett and Emily Photographers and the fabulous custom signs by the wonderful Abby Barnett of Flair Designery.

Welcome to 2013!!

Sweet Lydia’s has some really exciting things coming up this year, that we will be sharing soon…

For now, we are excited to get back to the fabulous San Diego Public Market. We will be there every Wednesday and Sunday from 9am until 2pm.

Sweet Lydia’s French Macarons are featured in the “Tabletops” section of the new issue of Exquisite Weddings.

The shoot was designed by the insanely talented Beau and Arrow Events and the florals were by fellow Coronado locals, Root 75…need I say more???

SARA + MATT

We did a really beautiful, and delicious, dessert table for the sweetest couple this past August, Sara and Matt. The ceremony and reception were in Ramona at the Mt. Woodson Castle. The gorgeous photos are by the talented Bethann Greenberg Photography, the event coordinator was Andrea Reznichek of A Diamond Celebration, and florals were by Candice Agonia. Enjoy!

We made them a small Angel Food Cake with berries to cut into at the reception.

And a coconut cake for the Bride’s grandmother who turned 95 that day! So sweet.

It was such a pleasure to work with Sara, Matt, and their families. They are such a beautiful couple inside and out.

Over the weekend Sweet Lydia’s did cupcakes for a fundraiser that supported walkers in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk. As you can see, they were a set of two mini cupcakes that were wrapped to be sold at the event. I just love the fun and cheeky way of raising funds for such an important cause. I will never forget when I did the 3-Day walk – such an incredible experience.

Sweet Lydia’s at the new Farmer’s Market in San Diego!!

If you have not heard about the new San Diego Public Market, you have to check it out!! Here is the link to their Facebook page. And here is an article from the Union-Tribune with more details.

Organizers are in the process of building out an old San Diego warehouse into an artisan food hall that will be open everyday – hoping to be similar to Pike Place in Seattle and The Ferry Building Marketplace in San Francisco. In the meantime, there will be Farmer’s Markets every Wednesday and Sunday from 9am to 2pm on location.

We are SUPER excited to announce that SWEET LYDIA’S WILL BE THERE EVERY WEDNESDAY!! We will be selling all sorts of breakfast pastries, cookies, cakes, and tarts – with specials every week. We look forward to meeting new customers and saying hi to familiar faces.

The address of the new market is 1735 National Avenue. See you all this Wednesday, September 12th from 9-2pm!

Custom Sugar Cookies

If you can dream it, there is a cookie cutter for it. Here are some examples of some of the creative sugar cookies that I have been creating lately. And in a couple of weeks I will be making tennis balls and pink breast cancer awareness ribbons – I will be sure to share pictures.

And the best part is that they taste good too!
